What Happened Since the War of the Continents

It has been four years since the war shook the continents. Alexandria and Burmecia have both been re-built and expanded to suit new needs. They are now bigger, better, and more efficient than before. Lindblum, though (surprisingly enough) also expanding, is still putting the finishing touches on what was destroyed. Unfortunately Cleyra, and its inhabitants, will never be in existence again. A ceremonial festival honors its passing. As for the mist, it has disappeared, but monsters still roam and breed, refusing to disappear along with the thing that created them.

Her Majesty Queen Garnet Til Alexandros the 17th is now 20 years of age, and is married to the great Hero Zidane. Long live Their Majesties. They both live in peace and honor, and people are happy to have them both as their chosen Monarchs.

Her Ladyship Princess Eiko Carol, Queen Garnet’s sister-by-race, is the Heir to the Throne (much to a certain red-haired giant’s disappointment). She comes before any child that Their Majesties Queen Garnet and King Zidane ever conceive. If you wish to have it proven, (If you be a lawyer) it is written in Queen Garnet’s hand in her will, and therefore, it must be so (However, not without mass grumbling from earlier-mentioned-red-haired-giant).

Kuja, King Zidane’s blood brother and ex-nemesis, was saved from near death after Zidane pulled him out of the Iifa Tree, and found by two dwarves (“We was a wounderin’ why tha tree wa’ a wee bit blowy and noisy soondin.”). King Zidane and Kuja were fully healed, and Kuja promised to never again attempt a Trance, or an evil deed, ever again. He now resides in his castle, even though the Antilion guards have been removed, and there are guards at the door (Many people don’t forgive as easily as His Majesty does) to screen the people entering. He attempts to find new spells that maybe used in time of need along with Alexandria’s Head Magician. He has found some very fabulous things.

Vivi Ornitier is now a worldwide-known Magician. He has become known as “The Greatest Magician Known to Man and ‘Pointy-Hats.’” He lives in Alexandria with his six children, who he made the ‘normal’ way. His job pays him well, for he is an advisor to Their Majesties, and Alexandria’s Head Magician.

Sir Albert Steiner was happily married to General Beatrix, and after disbanding the useless Pluto Knights, they command the Alexandrian Knights. It is now made of both men and women, and some of the Pluto Knights, after being disbanded, just switched to being an Alexandrian Knight. Even though it is a time of peace, the knights train daily to never fall out of shape, lest the worst were to happen.

Amarant Coral was forgiven of his crimes by the King Himself, (not without some *clears throat* influence) and now enjoys working as the Main Spy Operations Manager, Which King Zidane founded and insists on having.

Quina Quen has become the Head Cook at Alexandria Castle. He/she is known by the world for his/her excellent cooking (even though it has taken months for Queen Garnet to get him/her to understand that ‘Frog Soup’ is not a delicacy).

Puck has been made King of the Rats and Burmecia, and Regent Cid of Lindblum has held numerous balls to celebrate and honor his wife, who he has newfound respect and love for. They tour the world often on the Hilda Garde 5.

And I, Freya Crescent, am the Ambassador to Rats and Burmecia, and also a key advisor to Her Majesty Queen Garnet. My husband, the Great Sir Fratley, lives in our beautiful Burmecian mansion, which also acts as a place of teaching for new Dragon Knights, a job Sir Fratley takes pride in doing. I visit him often and work with him to help him remember his past. He is nearly past his amnesia.

So weary traveler or any others who wish to read, you now know the Epilogue of the Heroes of the War of the Continents…

…and Worlds.

Umm..... he's in the end credits. If you watch the bit where Garnet's hugging Zidane and all the Vivi kids are jumping up and down, there are five Vivi kids (I made him have another one, by the way) and TWO other Vivi's in the back bouncing about in the back.

Dothe math yourself... I'm not doing it for you. ;)

This I read on a faq from Gamefaqs.com

"Does Vivi Die?

An often-debated question is whether or not Vivi died by the time of the
game's ending. I here seek to convey the truth of the matter as best as I have
been able to determine it.

Yes, Vivi dies by the time of the game's ending. Foreshadowing earlier in the
game hints toward his demise as it is revealed that the Black Mages have a far
shorter lifespan than the rest of Gaia's dominant races, usually dying around
a year after being created. In Vivi's case, of course, he has lived to be nine
years old, but we learn that he was the prototype of the Black Mages, and --
according to Kuja, the Black Mages' maker -- would live longer as a result.
However, the indication offered is that Vivi's lifespan is still more limited
than that of races such as Dagger's and Freya's:

Vivi
"......"
"I wanna ask you something."

Black Mage No. 288
"What is it?"

Vivi
"A-Am I gonna stop pretty soon, too?"

Zidane
"!"

Black Mage No. 288
"I don't know..."
"Kuja said the prototype built before us would last longer."

Vivi
"But...I am gonna stop eventually."

Black Mage No. 288
"......"

With this foreshadowing in mind, we must then consider the manner in which
Vivi speaks during the game's ending, and what it is that he is saying:

"I always talked about you, Zidane. How you were a very special person to us,
because you taught us all how important life is."
"You taught me that life doesn't last forever. That's why we have to help
each other and live life to the fullest."
"Even if you say goodbye, you'll always be in our hearts. So, I know we're
not alone anymore."
"Why I was born... How I wanted to live... Thanks for giving me time to
think."
"To keep doing what you set your heart on... It's a very hard thing to do. We
were all so courageous..."
"What to do when I felt lonely... That was the only thing you couldn't teach
me. But we need to figure out the answer for ourselves..."
"I'm so happy I met everyone... I wish we could've gone on more adventures.
But I guess we all have to say goodbye someday."
"Everyone... Thank you. Farewell."
"My memories will be part of the sky..."

Here, we have him not only saying farewell to everyone, but adding in "My
memories will be part of the sky...." This would certainly indicate that Vivi
believed his death was near.

With these things in mind, we must finally consider that Vivi does not appear
in the final aspect of the ending, and only the beings that bear his
appearance and are said to be his sons do. Were Vivi present during the ending
amongst all these other Black Mages that bear his appearance, it's safe to
assume that he would be pointed out. It's likewise safe to assume that he
would have been present in Alexandria were he alive, as everyone else in the
controllable party is -- and even some characters who weren't.

With the story written as it is, there's no evidence toward Vivi having
survived, and the very method of the storytelling leading up to and during the
ending infers his death.
"

so thats why I asked

I've heard it either way... it is my belief that, in the game, Vivi dies. However, it is also my belief that Necron was thrown in to cause WTF moments... when they can explain Necron and a few other little things, like this! I made it into a blooper to better show the point and... be amusing at the same time:
Garland
"When you received the gift of life in Bran Bal, Kuja could not bear it."
"He could not bear to see a Genome with more power than his own; he felt threatened."
"Kuja discarded you. He dropped you onto Gaia, the world he would destroy-."

Zidane
“Hold it! Conflict.”

Garland
“Conflict?”

Zidane
“Yeah, meaning I am conflicted.”

Garland
“In what way?”

Zidane
“Kuja dropped me on Gaia? I was abandoned there by him?”

Garland
“Yes. You were forced to grow up alone because of him.”

Zidane
“… I see… all those awful years, wondering around, looking for my family, all caused by him…”

Garland
“Exactly! Now, you see you MUST fulfill your destiny and become my new Angel of Death-!”

Zidane
“Still conflicted.”

Garland
“Oh? Why?”

Zidane
“It’s just this little thing, ya know, a minor detail in the fact that 45 LINES AGO YOU SAID YOU SENT ME TO GAIA!!! We are not even in a different level, 5 minutes has passed… MAYBE 6 minutes!!! I may have a short attention span, but THIS is ridiculous!”

Garland
“… … I…did?”

Zidane
“I quote, ‘Twelve years ago, I lost one of my most prized Genomes.
I created him and sent him to Gaia to disrupt the cycle of souls there.
You are that Genome... I am glad you have returned.’ Yeah! You said it!”

When they can answer that stuff, I'll believe them that Vivi is dead.

lol! That's hilarious!

Another reason that me and Freya have Vivi alive, is that he's adorable and we couldn't not have him alive.
